What's New in Consultation Manager?

Vision 3 release DLM 870 contains the following new features and improvements for Consultation Manager:

Northern Ireland only

• GP2GP - GP2GP enables the electronic transfer of computerised patient notes from a patient's previous practice to a new practice, when they register for primary health care, within Northern Ireland.

Vision 3 release DLM 860 contains the following new features and improvements for Consultation Manager:

All Countries

• Immunisations:

  • SmallPox - The existing clinical term for the stage one Smallpox vaccination is updated to Local code 6590.00 Administration of first dose of smallpox vaccine.

  • Covid - All age, predefined interval and Next Stage values are removed for all Covid vaccinations at all stages.

• Age-related Prescribing Precautions - When prescribing for patients under one month old, age-related prescribing precautions do not display. To remind you to check for precautions elsewhere a new message displays in the comments section of the Drug Check Results screen mirroring the warning that displays in the top half:

  

England, Wales and Northern Ireland

• Creating an Acute prescription from a Repeat - The Floating Drop Target has been updated to recognise the type of prescription issue you are dropping on to Prescription . You can now drag and drop the following:

  • Repeat issue, to create a one off acute prescription retaining the same details as the repeat issue you are copying, or

  • Acute issue, to create a repeat master retaining the same details as the repeat issue you are copying:

Scotland only

• Instalment Prescribing - You can now print a Medication Schedule for a patient on an instalment plan.

  1. From Consultation Manager, with the patient selected, press F9 on your keyboard and the Prescription Manager screen displays:

     

  2. Tick Print Instalment Plan and then Print and the Medication Schedule prints:

  

  Training Tip - The Medication Schedule print out can be multiple pages long.

• Chronic Medication Service (CMS) Therapy Reorder form - When you issue a CMS prescription, the Print Reorder Form now prints by default.

Vision 3 release DLM 840 contains the following new features and improvements for Consultation Manager:

Scotland Only

• Reauthorisation Change Reason - When reauthorising a CMS (Serial Prescribing) medication, the following additional choices are now available for selection from the Reauthorisation Change Reason screen:

  

  • Nurse Decision

  • Doctor Decision

  • Pharmacist Decision:

• Deleting CMS (Serial Prescribing) Prescriptions - If you try and delete a CMS (Serial Prescribing) prescription with dispensing events against it, the 'It is not possible the delete a Serial Prescription that has Dispensing Events against it. All the Dispensing Events must be deleted first' message displays:

  If you do need to delete a CMS (Serial Prescribing) master, you must delete any dispensing events first, then you can delete the CMS (Serial Prescribing) master.

Vision 3 release DLM 830 contains the following new features and improvements for Consultation Manager:

General

• Spell Checker (Available for Hosted practices with Windows 10 and Windows Server 2012 or later only) - A spell checker has been added to all data entry forms within Consultation Manager, it uses the standard Windows dictionary combined with a medical lexicon based on SNOMED CT terms. Words that are not recognised are underlined with a red wavy line. To see suggestions for the word you have entered, right click on the incorrect word and a list of alternatives displays, select as required, or you can simply manually correct the word.

  Note - An unrecognised spelling does not prevent you from saving an entry.

• Lock/Unlock Patient - When you attempt to open a consultation for patient that is already in use by another member of staff, the Display Only message now contains details of the member of staff with the patient record open. Select OK to dismiss the message open the patient in Display Mode:

  

  The member of staff with the record open, receives a notification that you are trying to open the record to prompt them to release the patient record as soon as they are able:

  

  To unlock the patient you can, select Consultation - Unlock the Patient. This closes any consultation you have open leaving the record on your screen in Display Only mode.

  If you have a patient displaying on your screen in Display Mode, and no-one else has locked the patient, you can select Consultation - Lock the patient to open a consultation.

• Alerts - If a patient has unverified contact details, a new Contact Verification Required alert displays:

  

  To mark a contact type as verified, simply double click the alert to display the Patient Details screen, highlight the contact information that is not verified, select Edit, tick Verified and select OK.

Prescribing

• Drug Warnings - To comply with best practice, the warning message that displays when prescribing medication that contains Valproate to female patients has been extended to include all females in the 12 - 55 years age bracket.

• Treatment Days - The values entered in both Quantity and Dosage are now used to calculate the number of treatment days. For Controlled Drugs, when you select OK, if the number of days exceeds 30, a warning displays. Select OK to continue.

• Private Prescriptions - When you add a therapy item as Private, [PRIVATE PRESCRIPTION] now prints after the medication details on the right hand side.

England Only

• Free Supply Endorsement - To indicate an item is being prescribed as a sexual health treatment of a Sexually transmitted infection (STI) and should therefore be issued free of charge, there is a new FS option.

  To mark an item as Free of charge STI treatment, tick FS. A reminder re the use of the Free Supply Endorsement displays. Select OK to close the reminder and continue if appropriate:

  

  On a paper prescription, FS prints after the item name.

  On an electronic prescription, FS displays in the endorsement column.

Scotland Only

• Formulary Management Tool (FMT) - The Cegedim Healthcare SolutionsFormulary Management Tool (FMT) is now fully integrated with Vision 3 allowing you to utilise multiple formularies, including those issued and maintained by your Health Board, across your practice.

• Instalment Dispensing - A new Therapy Plan screen is available when you select Instalment dispensing from Repeat Master - Add. From Therapy Plan, you can define dosage regimes for the selected item.

  Note - Vision 3 release DLM 830 does not affect existing instalment instructions, these can however be updated when you reauthorise next.

• Non-Medical Prescribers:

  • The following details now display on any prescription authorised by a member of staff classified as a Non-Medical Prescriber:

    • Prescriber Number

    • Staff Role

    • Authorisers Name

    • Practice Details

    • Professional Registration Number

      These are all set up in Management Tools - Control Panel - Staff, see Adding Staff in the Management Tools Help Centre for details.

  • Prescriber Capacity/Capacity - This option displays, on both the therapy - Add and the Prescription Manager screens, if you are a non-medical prescriber with both Independent and Supplementary prescriber settings, select under which prescriber capacity you are prescribing.

• Drug Check - For prescribing safety, you can no longer suppress the drug-condition contraindication or any precautions. If you have selected Never in your settings, this is updated to Patient Specific as part of the DLM 830 update.

• SCI Gateway - The following updates are included this release:

  • Two new types of New Message are available from SCI Gateway, both of which write back to the patient's record, with all the associated information in Consultation Manager when saved:

    • Advice Dialogue

    • Emergency Dialogue

  • When you open SCI Gateway and check incoming messages, if a response to a message you have sent is received, when you select Save to File, the message is now added to the original message in Consultation Manager creating an easy to follow message trail:

    

    If a message fails to write back to the patient record, a warning displays and the message can be manually attached through Docman.

  Important - SCI Gateway does not prompt you if you are not responding to the latest message in a trail, so ensure you check there are not later messages.
  Remember - For help with using SCI Gateway, you can select Help from the bottom left corner of the SCI Gateway screen.

• Key Information Summary (KIS) Special Note - Clinical term 9bK5.00 Special patient note, is now updated to include the entry with the latest Event Date in the ECS/KIS extract.

• Alerts - You are no long warned if a patient does not have a valid NHS Number.

Vision 3 release DLM 820 contains the following new features and improvements for Consultation Manager:

• Drug Checks:

  • Drug Doubling - You can now differentiate Duplication offset dates from your Contraindication, Interaction and Precaution offset dates. From Consultation Manager, select Consultation - Options - Setup - Drug Check, under Therapy Data for Drug Checks and New Sensitivity Checks, there are now two date offset options:

    • From Last (date offset) - Defaults to 1 year, update as required.

    • Duplicate (date offset) - Defaults to 3 months, update as required.

    Note - In England, Wales and Northern Ireland, these cannot be less than 7 days, in Scotland they cannot be less than 30 days, if you try to update less than your country minimum, an error message displays.

    

• Prescribing:

  • Pack DetailsOrder - When you select Pack Details from a Therapy screen, the display order is now:

    • Prescription Only Medication (POM) - Smallest pack size first.

    • Pharmacy can prescribe (P) - Smallest pack size first.

    • General Sales (GSL) - Smallest pack size first:

  

  • Prescription Only Medicine Warning - If there is a Prescription Only Medicine (POM) version of a selected P/GSL product, to ensure cost-effective prescribing, POMAvailable displays above Preparation:

    

    If you select a POM but select a quantity that does not match a POM pack size, the following warning displays:

    

    Select Yes to continue or No to reselect the pack size.

  • Unlicensed Medicines Warning - If you select an unlicensed medicine from a Therapy - Add screen, an Unlicensed warning displays:

    

    This warning also displays in the Drug information section of the Select Drug screen:

    

    This includes items with:

    • No Licensing Authority.

    • Unknown Licensing Authority.

    • No Licensed Actual Medical Product (AMP).

  • Medication Reviews:

    • Individual Item Reviews- You can now set a reminder to review individual medication from any Therapy - Add screen.

    • Patient Presence - The Medication Review screen has been updated to include a Patient Presence option. Select from the available list as appropriate:

      

      Patient Presence defaults to None, but if you select 8B3x.00 Medication review with patient, or 8B3h.00 Medication review without patient in Read Term for Review it automatically updates.

    • Medication Review Due/Overdue- The symbol alongside a due or overdue Medication Review has been updated:

      • Medication Review Due - The date indicator displays in yellow .

      • Medication Review Overdue - The date indicator displays in red .

  • Deleting/Cancelling Repeat Issues- If appropriate, you can now delete or cancel any issue of a repeat master. If the issue selected is not the latest, a message displays to warn you, simply Yes to continue and the Cancel Prescription Reason screen displays in the usual way. If the issue selected is the latest, it is removed from the list, if it is not the latest, it displays as cancelled:

    

    Note - If this is an electronic prescription, you are warned that the cancellation is transmitted automatically.
    Training Tip - For more details on deleting issued medication, see Deleting a Repeat Issue for details.
  • Printed Prescriptions - Your financially responsible organisation now prints on prescriptions to ensure prescribing costs are passed on to the appropriate organisation.

  • Source of Drug - There are two new out of practice entries available to select from the Source of Drug list:

    • By Pharmacy.

    • By Federation.

  • Record medication issued by other organisations: - When you add a medication and select Source of Drug as outside the practice:

    You have two new options:

    • Prescriber - This becomes a free text option to record the prescriber of the medication if required. A list is created as you use this option.

    • Organisation - This is a free text option to record the organisation of the prescriber if required. A list is created as you use this option:

      

      Remember - You cannot issue against a Repeat Master prescribed by an outside source.
  • Non-allopathic Medication- You can now record any non-allopathic medication your patient is taking. This then displays in the Non-allopathic therapy list available from the Therapy tab.

  • Printing Out of Practice Prescriptions- Print is no longer enabled when you add an out of practice medication.

    

  • Updating an Out of Practice Medication- Once added, you can no longer:

    • Update an Out of Practice item to an In Practice item.

    • Update a Private prescription to an NHS prescription.

  • Similarly Named Drug Warning- If you select a medication that is commonly confused with another medication, based on the list of published by the MHRA in their Drug Safety Updates, a detailed warning now displays in the Drug Check Results screen, for example:

    

    Select Yes to continue or No to change the medication you are prescribing.

    Training Tip - Prescriber Warnings only display if you have a tick in Consultation Manager - Consultation - Options - Setup - Drug Check - Prescriber Warnings, see Consultation Manager Setup - Drug Check for details.

  • Medication Availability Restricted - If you select to prescribe an item that is highlighted as Availability Restricted within the dm+d, the following warnings display:

    • Therapy - Add - Limited Availability/Unavailable displays above the Drug details, hover over the warning to view further details where available:

      

      

    • Select Drug - Limited Availability displays in the information section of the screen:

      

Scotland Only

• Default Prescriber - When a non prescribing member of staff adds, reauthorises or edits a medication, the Prescriber no longer automatically completes. The authorising prescriber must be selected each time.

Vision 3 release DLM 800 contains the following new features and improvements for Consultation Manager:

• Medication - The following updates to prescribing medication are included in this release:

  • NHS Prescribing Price Information - In Scotland the NHS Prescribing Price Information is now country specific.

    Training Tip - You can display NHS Prescribing Price Information from Pack Information and from Packs in the bottom half of the Select Drug screen.

  • Switch to Generic - Any Quantity and Dosage instructions completed by default or manually entered on a medication, are now retained when you select Switch to Generic or Switch to Brand .

  • Maximum number of Repeats - You can now set a maximum number of issues that can be attributed to a Repeat Master. This can be set as a practice wide setting or a prescriber setting.

• Immunisation - The issue of the Show all setting on the Immunisation - Add screen not working, has been addressed.

• Alerts Pane - If you are using a Vision 3 view without a navigation pane, when you select Show Alerts they now display on the left hand side of your screen.

• Deleting Clinical Data - You can no longer delete a Consultation with entries in it. To delete an entire consultation, each entry within it must be deleted individually before deleting the empty Consultation. If you select to delete clinical data, the Delete patient Data screen now displays prompting you to select a reason:

  

  Where there is deleted clinical data, within a patient record, it now displays within the Alerts pane:

• Patient Identification - The following identification types are now available to select from the Identification - Add screen in both Consultation Manager and Registration:

  • Biometric residence permit

  • Travel document

  • HC2 certificate

  • ARC card

Control Panel

Vision 3 release DLM 800 contains the following new features and improvements for Control Panel:

• Appointments - If you have migrated to our fabulous new Appointments Setup app for the set up and maintenance of your Appointment books. Holidays, bank holidays, meetings and other adhoc events are now set up from the Appointment Events option in Control Panel.

• Privacy Officer Group - To comply with Information Governance standards a Privacy Officer staff group is now available from Management Tools - Control Panel - File Maintenance - Staff Groups. This group must be populated with your designated Privacy Officer(s) as soon as possible.

  To ensure appropriate governance of actions is maintained, your practice designated Privacy Officer(s) receives the following in Daybook or Tasks:

  • A task requiring action - A full alert:

    • When patient data is deleted.

    • When a transferred out patient record is accessed, more than 28 days after being deducted.

  • An announcement - A warning:

    • When a transferred out patient record is accessed less than 29 days after being deducted.

    • When a transferred out patient record is accessed as a result of running a report.

  The Privacy Officer(s) must check announcements and tasks of this type to ensure the actions are valid and, where a task is raised, select Complete to confirm it has been checked.

  The information provided is:

  • Date and time of the action.

  • The staff member logged on.

  • The reason entered.

• Show Deleted Records - Within Control Panel - Security - Vision Functions - Consultation Manager there is a new Show Deleted Records options, this defaults to System Managers. To permit additional staff to view deleted records, you need to add either the individual user or a group of users to the Vision Function.

• Preferred Name - You can now add and maintain preferred names for staff members within Vision 3 if required. To add a preferred name:

  1. From the Vision 3 front screen, select Management Tools - Control Panel - File Maintenance - Staff.

  2. Highlight the staff member required, right click and select Edit Staff.

  3. The Personal tab displays:

     

  4. In Preferred Name enter the preferred name of your staff member.

  5. Select OK to save.

Registration

Vision 3 release DLM 800 contains the following new features and improvements for Registration:

• Registration Details - When you are adding a new patient and completing the Registration Details screens, you now have a Next option to guide you through the common screens:

  

  Once you get to the Preferences tab, OK displays.

• Ex-services Patients - Within the Preferences tab, there is now an Ex-services option. To record service details, select Ex-services and complete the History - Add screen as required, the clinical term defaults 13Ji.00 Military veteran:

  

  If you update the clinical term, for example, Royal Navy veteran, you are given the option to enter the data in the Occupation Structured Data Area (SDA), select as required.

  Select OK to save.

  The selected term displays alongside the Ex-services option in the patient's Registration and displays in the Alert pane in the patient's clinical record:

  

• Safe Key - You can now record Safe Key details from Registration. You can record this for existing patients as required and add it as part of your registration process for new patients. To record the Safe Key:

  1. From within Vision 3Registration, select the patient and then select their Preferences tab.

     Select Safe Key and the History - Add screen displays:

     

     The clinical term defaults to 915L.00 Patient door access key code, enter the code(s) into Comment and then select OK to save.

• Out of Area - You can now record that a patient, either new or existing, is residing outside of your catchment area. You can also now search for patients that are marked as Out of Area.

Other Updates

Vision 3 release DLM 800 also contains the following new features and improvements:

• Event Log - You can now export Event Log files in CSV format. Simply create and run your search in the usual way and then select the new Export option:

  

  The Save As screen displays, the default location is P:\Export\Exported Events, give your file a name and select Save. This file can now be opened, manipulated and shared as a normal CSV file.

  Note - Patient names are not exported.

• Registration Links - The issue of Upload transactions not processing during the Registration Links update in Mail Gateway has been addressed.

Summary of Changes

Vision 3 release DLM 790 contains the following new features and improvements:

England only

• GP2GP Large Messaging - DLM 790 delivers GP2GP large messaging. This enables you to send and receive electronic patient records over 5mb and those containing over 100 attachments of any file extension. The way you process GP2GP messages does not change with the enabling of large messaging, the only visible change is the removal of the Journal tab in Mail Manager as it is no longer required. This functionality is currently switched off pending NHS England assurance and we will inform you when GP2GP large messaging is ready to be automatically switched on.

Wales only

• 2DRX - The issue with 2DRX barcodes not accounting for British Summertime (BST) and Greenwich Mean Time (GMT) has been addressed.

Summary of Changes

Vision 3 release DLM 780 contains the following new features and improvements:

• Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources (FHIR) - Vision3 is now ready to receive FHIR messages directly into Mail Manager and Daybook/Tasks.

  Note - This functionality is currently disabled, full details will be provided in advance of switch on.

• Tasks - You can now view outstanding tasks from the Reminder on a patient record in Consultation Manager.

Summary of Changes

Vision 3 release DLM 770 contains the following new features and improvements:

Prescribing PRN (as needed) Medication

• Prescribing PRN (as needed) medication - Prescribing acute or repeat medication with a dosage instruction of PRN (or equivalent) now prints/sends on a separate prescription.
  Important - The PRN option is disabled on receipt of Vision release DLM 770. This is to allow you to discuss the changes with the relevant clinicians/staff within your organisation. To use the new functionality and switch it on for all clinicians/staff see Management Tools - Therapy Settings for details.

• Reauthorising Medication - The option to select PRN is only available when adding new medication. To convert repeat medication into PRN items, highlight the repeat master, select Re-authorise and then tick PRN. The PRN repeat medication then prints on a separate prescription to other repeat items.

Training Tip - You may want to consider including PRN items in your reauthorisation/medication review protocol.

• Printing PRN (as needed) drugs - Prescription Manager now includes additional PRN option.

• Reorder form - Additional guidance instructions can now be included for PRN drugs. The additional guidance prints on the right hand reorder form and be be customised.

• Therapy Settings - To accommodate the extra PRN options, practice-wide therapy settings are visible but cannot be updated from Consultation Manager - Options - Setup - Therapy. A new Vision System Settings option is available in Management Tools - Control Panel.

PRN changes apply to the following electronic prescriptions:

• England - Repeat Dispensing (RD) and Electronic Prescription Service (EPS)

• Scotland - Acute Medication Service (AMS) and Chronic Medication Service (CMS Serial Prescribing)

GP Connect

• Vision Appointments - GP Connect is an NHS England project designed to enable access to patient related information recorded on any of the participating systems across care settings. It relies on sharing agreements being signed between practices and authorised third parties. All data is exchanged via the NHS Spine. The ability to release appointments to third parties that you have a sharing agreement with, for example NHS111, relies on you using Vision Appointments and Vision Release DLM 760.

Control Panel

• Organisation codes (ODS) - From April 2020, new organisations in England have an ODS code in the format of ANANA (A is alphabetical, N is numeric). Vision Control Panel is updated to allow for this. See Organisation Codes.

Patient Facing Services

• Patient Facing Services Letter - The letter created when a patient registers for Patient Services, now includes a web address containing a list of all available paired suppliers of patient facing services

Search and Reports

• National Data Opt-out Service - The National Data Opt-out Service enables patients to choose not to share their confidential patient information for research and planning purposes. The opt-out filter should be applied when the organisation requesting the data, for example, a research body, confirms that they have approval from the Confidentiality Advisory Group (CAG) for the disclosure of confidential patient information. This approval is known as a 'section 251' and enables the common law duty of confidentiality to be lifted, so that confidential patient information can be disclosed without the data controller being in breach. It is only in these cases that opt-outs apply and the opt-out filter should be used.

  DLM 760 introduces an Opt-out option for you to select from the Search: New search screen.

Scotland

Electronic Test Requesting

• Community Health Index (CHI) number - A patient's CHI number is now automatically included in the information passed to an electronic test requesting service when a test request is entered.
• Prescribing Number - A clinician's prescribing number is now automatically included in the information passed to an electronic test requesting service when a test request is entered.

Wales

• QOF - In line with policy changes in Wales, the operational period for QOF has been updated to 1st October - 30th September.
  • Clinical Audit - The Reference date now displays as 01 October.

  

Northern Ireland

Key Information Summary (KIS)

• Consent - A new Consent option is available, Lacks Capacity. If you select this option, Read term 9NdL.00 Lacks capacity to give consent (Mental Capacity Act 2005) is added to the patient record:

  • Virology only result - No cytology information received.
  • Cytology only result - Cytology and virology data received, but only the cytology is used for recall recommendation.
  • Virology and Cytology result - Cytology and virology data received.

SNOMED CT

• Local Vision Codes - Some terms in the October 2019 SNOMED CT release do not map to existing Read codes. Vision have therefore created Vision Local Codes, based on the Read code format, to enable you to both record and report on these new codes within Vision 3, see Vision 3 Local Codes for the full list of terms.

Consultation Manager

• Consultation Type - The following Consultation Types have been added:
  • Video consultation - Aimed at consultations carried out via video link, for example Skype or Face Time.
  • eConsultation - Aimed at consultations carried out via electronic mediums, for example email or Whats App.

Control Panel

• Staff Roles - From Control Panel - File Maintenance, the following staff roles have been added for selection:
  • Contact Tracing Nurse - The Contact Tracing Nurse role has the same functionality in Vision as a Practice Nurse.
  • Paramedic - The Paramedic role can now be allocated to a staff member.

    England and Wales only - The Paramedic prescribing code can now be added to enable prescribing for your paramedics.

  • BCG - The inappropriate age warnings that display when you record a BCG have been removed and the Reason now defaults to Special Risk Group.
• Co-ordinate My Care (where available) - You can now see if a patient has a care plan from the patient record in Consultation Manager:
  • Patient has a CMC care plan, launch CMC to view and update the patient's plan - Displays if a plan exists, select to trigger the plan.
  • This patient does not have a CMC care plan yet, launch CMC to create one - Displays if a plan exists, select to trigger a plan.
    Note - The Coordinate My Care (CMC) initiative is retired from 27th July 2022.

Scotland only

Emergency Care Summary (ECS) and Key Information Summary (KIS)

The following changes have been made to the Emergency Care Summary (ECS) and Key Information Summary (KIS) functionality as part of this release:

• Special Note - The following changes are part of the DLM 710 update:
  • When you add a Special Note to a patient, it is now added to the patient record as a Medical History entry with a Read code of 9bK5.00Special patient note. As part of this update, the most recent existing Special Note - Notepad record for each patient is automatically converted to the correct format. The original Notepad record is not deleted:

    

  • If the Special Note has an expiry date, a Recall is added to the patient record.

• DNRCPR - The Has DNACPR Form has been removed to avoid confusion. The following options are available:

  • Resuscitation status - For new records, select from

    • 1R00.00 For attempted cardiopulmonary resuscitation, or
    • 1R10.00 Not for attempted CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation).
    Note - Existing entries for 1R0..00 For resuscitation and 1R1..00 Not for resuscitation, are still valid for ECS and included in the extract.
  • Remove tick - Records a Priority 1 Medical History entry, 1R00.00For attempted cardiopulmonary resuscitation, to the patient record.
  • If this is an update on an existing record sent the same day, the following displays in Comment 'This record supersedes the Notepad record for DNACPR with the same date'

• View Mail for Patient - From View Mail for Patient there is a new mail category filter, this enables you to select the type of mail you want to see:

• Test Requesting - ICE, Technidata, tQuest and Cyberlab - If a Home Number is not recorded for a patient, the next recorded contact number is selected in the following order:
  • Mobile number
  • Secondary home number
  • Emergency number

  Where none of the above are recorded, no number is sent.

• Unit of Measure - A new unit of measure, ug Hb/g replaces ug/Hb/g stool.

Scotland

Serial Prescribing (previously known as CMS)

The following changes have been made to the Serial Prescribing functionality as part of this release:

• ­Deleting a Serial Prescribing dispensing event - You can now delete a dispensing event. Right click on the event, select Delete and confirm. The selected event is removed, the Last Issue Date and the Dispensing Event Count are updated.
• ­Editing the date of a Serial Prescribing dispensing event - If you have received the incorrect date for a dispensing event, you can now update it. Right click on the event, select Edit and update the date as required. Where appropriate the Last Issue Date is updated.
• Printing:
  • Repeat Re-order form - Serial Prescribing items are now listed separately on the re-order form under a CMS Items heading.
  • Preferred and Serial Prescribing Pharmacy names - Both the preferred pharmacy and the Serial Prescribing Pharmacy, as selected in Consultation Manager - Patient Details - Preferences, now print on the top of the right hand side re-order form.

• Unique Prescription Number (UPN) - The UPN of a dispensing event now displays in a separate Message Reference column in Mail Manager.

  To search on the UPN, from Mail Manager, select Filter - Message Reference and enter all or part of the UPN required:

• Warning Message - If you attempt to create or print a Serial Prescribing item for a patient that has not registered for Serial Prescribing, the warning message has been updated to eliminate confusion:

The following changes are included in the DLM 690 Vision release:

• SNOMED CT - The issue with long SNOMED CT values has been addressed. The full value now displays in the Audit Trail within Consultation Manager.

Vision Release DLM 690 does not contain any other customer facing updates, but instead focuses on the infrastructure behind the scenes in order to improve existing functionality and provide a stable platform for all the exciting content currently being developed.

Vision Front Screen

• About Vision - The current Vision Apps configuration version installed on your Vision system now displays in the About Vision screen:

SNOMED CT

• The Health Information Network (THIN) - The THIN extraction has been updated to add SNOMED CT to the extract.

England Only

• Patient Services Registration Details Letter - www.coop.co.uk/myhealth has been added to the alternative Online Services section of the Registration letter.

Scotland

• SCI Pathology - An issue with filing SCI Pathology results containing invalid namespaces has been addressed.

Vision Front Screen

• The Vision front screen has been updated with our new rebranded News from the Hive and News from the blog feeds:

Consultation Manager

• Yellow Card - The occasional issue of missing drug names and medical history has been addressed.

Docman 10

• Docman 10 is a cloud based clinical correspondence solution provided by Advanced. From release DLM 660, Vision is ready to access documents stored in Docman 10. Details regarding your migration to and use of Docman 10 will be released in due course.

Mail Manager

• Federated Services - The message received by Mail Manager following a federated encounter, now contains details of the consultation filed to your patient's record. You can view the details, attach actions and print the message in the usual way. See Vision Anywhere for details.
• Text Colour - The issue of some text being difficult to read within the Message tab due to the grey background has been addressed, the background is now white.

England

• GPES Uplift - Vision Release DLM 660 includes the preparation work for GPES Uplift which is part of the GP Data Implementation Programme. This initiative supports GPs to receive payments for the services they provide or legally mandated data collections. The first Uplifted extract is planned for May 2019.
• GP Appointment Extract - NHS England requires the collection of appointment and utilisation data from all general practices. The GP Appointment Extract enables an overview of planned appointment capacity and how appointments are utilised.

  Every Monday evening data is collected to show a forward look of planned appointments capacity within your practice for the next three months. There is an initial one off collection dating back to November 2017.

  • Managed Server (AEROS) - The GP Appointment Extract is run and the resulting extract submitted automatically on a weekly basis.
  • Local Server - You must add the GP Appointment Extract to your GPC Scheduler, see Setting up your GP Appointment Extract Schedule - England only for details.

• Inactive User Login - An issue identified, where an inactive user can log in to Vision, providing the log in screen user drop down box is disabled has been addressed

• Therapy Inactivation/Reauthorisation Reasons - Providing you have your therapy settings configured to select an inactivation/reactivation reason, it is now possible to select more than one reason for both:

• Therapy Inactivation - Up to five reasons, see Therapy Inactivation Reasons for details.
• Therapy Reauthorisation Changes - Up to four reasons as the first reason is always Reauthorisation, see Therapy Reauthorisation Change Reasons for details.
• Scotland only - Reauthorisation of CMS items - Up to three reasons as the first two are always Cancellation and Reauthorisation, see Therapy Reauthorisation Change Reasons for details.

Wales only

• WGP Portal - This is a new option that enables you to access your test request system from within Consultation Manager. See WGP Portal - Wales only for full details.

SNOMED CT

• Local Vision Codes - Help updated to latest release, see Vision Local Codes.

Scotland

• CMS - The following CMS actions now create and send a Cancellation Message:
  • Inactivating a CMS master, via both CMS - Inactivate and Inactivate .
  • Reauthorising a CMS master with Keep original CMS item? ticked.
  • Reauthorising a CMS master without Keep original CMS item? ticked, the cancellation is triggered the first time you issue from the new master.
  • Deleting a CMS master.

• CMS - The issue of a reauthorised CMS not printing until the Medication term and Dispensing frequency is re-selected has been addressed.

SNOMED CT

• Clinical Practice Research Datalink (CPRD) - The CPRD extraction has been updated to be SNOMED CT compliant.

England

• GP2GP - Vision can now send and receive GP2GP records coded in both Read codes and SMOMED CT.

• eMed3 - The eMed3 extraction has been updated to be SNOMED compliant.

• SNOMED - There are various behind the scenes changes included in this release to facilitate the move over to the SNOMED dictionary, this includes the SNOMED dictionary for October 2017.
• Immunisations - Hepatitis B Junior (Pre-Aug 2017) has been renamed Hepatitis B Junior (Routine) to clarify reason for administration.

• Immunisations - The new DTaP/IPV/Hib + Hep B (Diphtheria, Tetanus, Pertussis, Polio, Hib + Hep B) vaccination is now available from the drop down list in the Immunisation SDA. When selected, 6 individual immunisations are added to the patient record:

  • Diphtheria

  • Tetanus

  • Pertussis

  • Polio

  • HIB

  • Hepatitis B Junior

Deleting one of the individual records deletes all those recorded as part of the compound.

• All Test Entities - All test entities, where a value can be recorded, can now accept results containing up to six digits before the decimal point.

• Yellow Card - The following changes have been made as part of this release:
  • Medical History recorded- When a Yellow Card entry is created and saved, a history entry with the Read code 9G4..11 Yellow card drug react notif is now posted to the patient record. This ensures the information is transferred as part of the GP2GP process.

  

  

  • If NO, how bad was the suspected reaction? - By request of the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) the If NO, how bad was the suspected reaction? selections have been removed and can no longer be selected from the Yellow Card screen.

• GP2GP - The units of measure for test results received via GP2GP have been reviewed and updated, this results in a better quality of data when records are received.
• Seminal Analysis SDA - The Seminal Analysis structured data area (SDA) now has a numerical value box allowing for more precise data entry and search capability.

• Examination of Faeces Structured Data Area (SDA) - You can now enter a test result value within the Examination of Faeces SDA. Any value entered is fully searchable.

Scotland

• Scottish Cervical Call Recall System (SCCRS) - The following changes have been made as part of this release:

  SCCRS recall advice has been updated, Routine Recall is now labeled either:

Immunisations

• Meningitis C - The Infant dose of Meningitis C vaccine that was scheduled for three months has been withdrawn, this immunisation has therefore been removed from the current list but is still available on the All list within the Immunisations SDA to enable accurate historical data recording.

• Yellow Card - Electronic Yellow Card reporting is now integrated in Vision and allows you to:
  • Create a populated Yellow Card report directly from the current Drug Allergy and Intolerance - Add screen and when inactivating a repeat master where the reason is Allergy/intolerance. See Creating a Yellow Card Report for details.
  • Send a completed Yellow Card report to the MHRA web service (England and Wales only see Yellow Card Pre-requisites for details). You can also preview and print the report.
  • View existing Yellow Card reports created in Vision. See Editing a Sent Yellow Card Report for details.
  • View automatically created Daybook tasks for saved unsent Yellow Card reports. See Tasks for Unsent Yellow Card Reports for details.

    When the report is created, it is automatically populated with the information on the Allergy and Intolerance form along with specific patient and practice information where available.

• Graphnet ICB Portal - If supported in your area, Graphnet is now available from the pick list in the Links tab, see Graphnet ICB Portal for details.

England only

• Patient demographic ribbon - To enable you to quickly see the DCR consent status of a patient, the blue patient demographic ribbon has been updated to display:
  • Patient can see this record if all the following conditions are met:

    • Control Panel - DCR enabled for practice.

      DCR Review App - Any category enabled.

    • Registration - DCR enabled within the selected patients Registrations Online Services tab.

    • Consultation Manager - The selected patient record contains Read codes 91B..00 Patient registration data verifiedand 9344000 Electronic record notes summary verified (in that order).

  • Patient May see this record displays - If any one of the above conditions are met.
  • No message - If the DCR option in Control Panel - File Maintenance - Online is not selected.

General

• New Consultation Type - A new consultation type of Extended Hours is now available from the Type of Consultation list.

• Medication Review - The display issue has been addressed and medication reviews now display correctly on the patient record.
• Drug Check Contraindications - A Not Recommended category has been added.

Immunisations

• Immunisation Contraindication SDA - Read codes 8I2E.00 Pneumococcal vaccination contraindicated and 8I2F.00 Influenza vaccination contraindicated have been added to the Immunisation Contraindication structured data area (SDA). Any allergies previously recorded with these Read codes are updated to immunisation contraindications automatically on installation of this update.
• Allergies & Adverse Reactions SDA - Read codes in the 8I23% hierarchy have been removed from the Allergies & Adverse Reactions SDA. Any allergies previously recorded with these Read codes are updated to immunisation contraindications automatically on installation of this update.

• Therapy Issued Outside of the Practice - The options to select from and the methods of display have been improved for recording therapy prescribed outside of your practice.
• Repeat Inactivation Reason - A new option has been added to the Inactivation Reason screen, you can now select Dose Change as a reason for a repeat medication inactivation.
• Sigmoidoscopy SDA - The Read codes that file to the Sigmoidoscopy SDA have been expanded to include 68W20*- 68W25* and 68W2C* to support the changes to the Bowel Cancer Screening programme in England.
• Calcium Adjusted Level - Read code 4Q721 Calcium adjusted level now files correctly to the Adjusted Serum Calcium structured data area (SDA).
• Diabetes Management Plan and Vision App - Diabetic Management - The default Read code from Hb A1C - Diabetic Control has been updated to 42W5.00 Haemoglobin A1c level - IFCC standardised.
• Asthma Consultation - Read code 66Yp Asthma review using Royal College of Physicians three questions has been added to the available list to support the changes in the Business Rules from Wales for 2015/16.

• Identification - A new Identification option is available from the Consultation Manager - List menu.
• New Units of Measure:

• CU - Chemiluminescent Unit (CU) has been added to the unit of measure list for use with Read code 43ad.00 Tissue transglutaminase IgA level results received.
• ng/mLFEU - Nanograms per millilitre fibrinogen equivalent units (ng/mLFEU) has been added to the unit of measure list.

England

• Summary Care Record 2.1 - DLM 483 brings many important changes and enhancements to the way SCR works in Vision. See What's New in SCR
• Test Result Tooltips - If you opt to switch the option on, when you hover your mouse over a pathology result in the patient record view a Test Result Tool Tip is now displayed. See Test Result Tooltips.

Wales

• WCCG Messages - New message types have been added to the list of Welsh Clinical Communication Gateway (WCCG) messages you can process from Vision, see Additional Gateway Message Types.

Northern Ireland

• CCG Referral App - The way you access the CCG Referrals website has been updated, see Logging in to Your Gateway from Consultation Manager

Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland Only

• Test Result Unit of Measure - There are new units of measure available from the Unit of Measure list within the Test Result SDA's.
• Viewing Test Result Details from the right click menu - Source/Action replaces Source. If you select the Source/Action option on a test result the Actions tab from Mail Manager displays by default. See Test Tab for details.
• Scoring Test Result SDA - Read codes starting 38G - Additional miscellaneous scales have been updated to file directly into the Scoring Test Result SDA. This includes Read codes added via Vision+ forms.
• Family History SDA - Additional Diabetes Read codes have been added to the Family History structured data area (SDA).
• Family History SDA - The issue with Read codes 122B1 No FH of breast cancer meeting NICE CG164 referral criteria, 122Q.00 No family history of Parkinson's disease and 12A5.00 FH Retinitis pigmentosa not filing properly into the Family History structured data area (SDA) has been addressed.
• MED3 - If Refrain from Work is unchecked For and Until are now disabled.
• Duplicate entries - The intermittent issue with duplicate comments displaying in Journal has been addressed.
• Vision 3 Apps - The issue of data being added, edited or deleted within Vision 3 Apps not immediately updating the patient Journal has been addressed, when you add, edit or delete from a Vision 3 App the patient record updates immediately.

Immunisations

• Type of Immunisation - Within the Add Immunisation SDA a filter is now available to 'Display the current vaccine list only' this is selected by default, tick Show All to display all current and historical immunisations entries. See Adding an Immunisation for details.
• Meningitis B Vaccination - The new Meningitis B vaccination has been added to the Immunisation structured data area (SDA). See Type of Immunisation.
• Meningitis C Vaccination - The Read code for the third meningitis C vaccine within the Immunisation SDA has been updated to 657S. Booster meningitis C vaccination. See Type of Immunisation.
• Single Stage Hepatitis and Typhoid Immunisations - When adding single stage Hepatitis and Typhoid immunisations, both combined and individual you must select '1st' from the Stage list. See Type of Immunisation.
• Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) Vaccination - The HPV vaccination has been updated to a two stage vaccination providing the course is commenced before the patient's 15th birthday.
• Typhoid Vaccination - Typhoid vaccination stages and their related Read codes have been updated to stage 1 and booster.
• Single Stage Immunisations - The issue that results in an error message being displayed when adding a single-stage immunisation to a patient has been resolved.

Therapy

• Drug Allergy/Sensitivities Warning - The colour of the Drug Sensitivity warnings, triggered from adding a new therapy, has been updated to ensure it stands out from other drug warnings. See Drug Checks for details.
• Reauthorise as Repeat Dispensing (Wales and Northern Ireland - for Scotland see CMS) - We have created a new Reauthorise as Repeatable option in the therapy screen which enables you to turn existing repeat items into repeat dispensing items (also known as Batch and Repeatable). The new functionality is similar to bulk reauthorisation and allows you to multi-select repeat items but processes each item sequentially so you have an opportunity to review the repeat before it is added as a repeat dispensing item. Scotland

• ECS Summary Management - Current Medication wording has been updated to reflect the data changes made in DLM 460. See Emergency Care Summary for details.
• ECS Status - Patients who do not have a Permanent registration status, and are therefore not eligible for ECS, now have grey traffic lights displayed within the Emergency Care Summary Management screen.
• ECS Summary Management - Read code 915L.00 Patient door access key code, has been added to the Patient Access.
• ECS Consent - The ECS consent status for patients that transfer out and then re-register at your practice now automatically reverts to 'implied consent'. It is recommended that you run the ECS consent utility after receiving DLM 480 even if you have previously run the utility.
• ECS Management Summary - When Palliative Care Plan dates are updated they are now displayed correctly on the KIS screen.
• Mail Gateway - The Tasks, BOSS, SCCRS, DC, ECS tabs now populate and display correctly.
• SCI Pathology - The issue of SCI pathology not working for the second practice in the list, if you have multiple store selected, has been resolved.
• SCCRS - The issue that resulted in you being unable to action SCCRS messages over 40 characters has been addressed.

ePharmacy Scotland - CMS

• Bulk Reauthorise as CMS - There is a new function to enable you to bulk select repeat items which need to be reauthorised as CMS. See Turn Repeat Masters into Chronic Medication Service (CMS) Items for details.
• Populate CMS Suitability - Now allows you to mark patients as either suitable or unsuitable for CMS within a specific patient group. See Flagging Suitable Chronic Medication Service (CMS) Patients for details.
• CMS Single dispensing for 24 and 48 week prescriptions - You can now select a dispensing frequency of 24 or 48 weeks for 24 or 48 medication terms. See Adding a Chronic Medication Service (CMS) Prescription for details.
• CMS Prescription Dates - The date printed on a CMS script is now the date on which it was printed, not the date on which it was added.
• CMS Items in Full Patient Reports - The issue of CMS items not displaying accurately in the Full patient report has been addressed.

Wales

• WCCG Referrals Long Drug Names - We have identified an issue with long drug names being truncated when performing WCCG referrals. This has now been addressed and the full name is now sent.
• WCCG Referrals Long Phone Numbers - The issue regarding phone and mobile number exceeding 35 characters in length causing errors has been addressed, any number over this value is now truncated. If truncated the entry is suffixed [...].

Northern Ireland

• eMED3 - Practices in Northern Ireland can now print, create issued by hand and duplicate forms for eMed3s. See Electronic MED3 Doctor’s Statement for details.

England Only

• Vision 3 Apps - We have created the following new Vision 3 Apps which can be accessed via Consultation Manager or the new Apps Controller module:

• Vision 3 Apps Changes - We have update the following existing Vision 3 Apps:

  • Home Visit Summary and Medications List Shortened - The display of Repeat Medications is now limited to Active Repeat Masters and a new section has been created for medication prescribed (as Repeats) outside the practice, see Home Visit Summary in the Apps Controller Help Centre for details
  • Management Plans and Child Centiles - These apps have been updated to enable full printing facilities.

• Vision Apps - INPS have released Vision Apps - a set of new application screens designed specifically for their ease of use and flexibility. These new apps allow you to view data in the form of charts, diagrams and documents and also allow you to add, edit and delete data as required. See Vision Apps.
• New Warning for Cancelled Consultation Manager Data EntryForms - To prevent unintentional loss of information from cancellation of data entry forms, we have created a new prompt asking if you would like to save before a form is cancelled. See Completing a Data Entry Form.
• Allergy/Intolerance Display Changes - We have made some changes to the Allergy/Intolerance display in the therapy screens to make it easier to view information. All three possible sensitivities are now viewable without scrolling and the display of these in the Therapy add screen are now wrapped.
• Removal of CVD Calculators from Core Vision - We have removed all CVD calculators from the Consultation Manager screens. Calculators should now be accessed from the Vision+ menu. See the following link to the Vision+ help for further information: Assessment Forms and Risk Calculators.
• Normal Ranges for Test Results in Journal View - We have added the display of normal ranges to test result entries in the Journal view in Consultation Manager. See Test View.
• New Unit of Measure for eGFR - We have added mL/min/1.73m2 as a new unit of measure for eGFR results.
• New Structured Data Areas - We have created new Structured Data Areas (SDAs) for Research Study Participation and Clinical Trial Participation which were introduced in the October 2013 Read dictionary.
• SDA Removal for Oxygen at Home - We have removed the Oxygen at Home Read codes from the Asthma SDA. Oxygen at Home is now added as a medical history.
• Bug Fix - eMed3 - The eMed3 form no longer crashes when selecting a Read code from the Read select box.
• Bug Fix - Adding and Removing Patient Warnings - You can now add and remove patient warnings for all patients.
• Bug Fix - Initial View 7 with DXS - The problem pane is now displayed when using Initial View 7 and DXS in Consultation Manager.

Therapy

• Tick Boxes on Therapy Re-order Form - We have included tick boxes on the repeat re-order form. These will automatically print on receipt of DLM 470. See Repeat Therapy Reorder Form Set-up.
• Copy Prescription ID - For electronically prescribed items, you can now copy the prescription ID from the Prescription Manager screen. See Copy Prescription ID.

England - EPS

• Search for Prescription by Unique Identifier - There is a new option to search for the Prescription ID on the All Prescriptions view in the Bulk Signing screen. See Searching for an EPS Prescription by Unique Identifier.
• Date of Printing and Nomination Details on RHS - The date of printing and dispensing contractor nomination details are now included on the right hand side of the EPS prescription. See Prescription Tokens.

Scotland - ePharmacy

• CMS Pharmacy Printing - From DLM 470, the CMS pharmacy name prints on prescriptions only when the patient is CMS registered or has CMS items printed on the prescription. See Printing the CMS GP10.
• Prompt for Non-Standard Preparation - From DLM470, when performing a bulk repeat re-authorisation a prompt appears if any of the repeat items have a non-standard preparation.
• Compliance Messages for Deleted/Unmatched CMS Prescriptions - Incoming drug compliance messages do not autofile if the original CMS item has been deleted or if drug items are unmatched. See Compliance Messages for Deleted/Unmatched CMS Prescriptions.
• eAMS Transmission Error for Branch Sites - Previously, eAMS messages from branch sites which contained telephone numbers with spaces went into transmission error. This has now been resolved in DLM 470.

Immunisations

• Rotavirus Age Ranges - The age ranges for Rotavirus extractions have now been updated for 2014.
• Rotavirus Medical History to Immunisation Conversion - The DLM 470 Vision release automatically converts historical Rotavirus Read codes from Medical History records to Immunisations.

England - GP2GP

• GP2GP Management Information (MI) - GP2GP messages can now be monitored more easily by the Health and Social Care Information Centre (HSCIC) using a new GP2GP Management Information process. See GP2GP Management Information (MI). See GP2GP Management Information.
• GP2GP Messages to SystemOne - Vision to SystemOne GP2GP messages are now being sent correctly.

• Vision+ - DLM 450 introduces a new QOF management and practice protocol tool called Vision+. This exciting new update to Vision includes real-time alerts for additional QOF points, practice-based protocols and a simple but powerful recall facility.

  When a patient record is open in Consultation Manager, Vision+ shows missing or incorrect contract information and provides intelligent templates for fast data recording. There are also additional reporting facilities to help with QOF and protocol management.

  Practices can also create their own protocols that alert users to missing information during consultations alongside the existing QOF related alerts.

• Immunisation Changes -

• Read codes have been added to the immunisations SDA for: Intranasal Seasonal influenza, Hepatitis A adult and junior, Shingles and Rotavirus.
• On receipt of DLM 450, previous medical history entries for Shingles and Rotavirus will be automatically converted to the immunisation SDA.
• Read codes have been changed for Influenza, Hepatitis and Varicella.
• You can now select Intranasal from the immunisation method list.

• Patient Preview Enhancements

• Last Surgery Consultation - Full details of the last patient consultation are now displayed in the Last Surgery Consultation section of the Patient Preview screen.
• Significant Medical History - Date Display - The Read codes and Problem entries in the Significant Medical History section of the Patient Preview screen now display the event dates.
• Procedures - Procedure history items with a priority 0 or 1 no longer display in Significant Medical History (priority 1 items display in the medical history section). Also, the following chapter 7 codes are no longer displayed in the procedure section: 7L1% Other miscellaneous operations, 7M% Subsidiary classification of methods of operation, 7N% Subsidiary classification of laterality and operation sites, 7P% Diagnostic imaging, testing and rehabilitation, 7Q% Drugs.
• Current Prescription Section - Current prescriptions are now categorised and grouped into acute and repeats and the associated text displayed now wraps.
• Recalls section - Completed inactive recalls no longer display in Patient Preview.
• Examination Findings Section - The Examination Findings section of the Patient Preview screen now displays the event dates.
• Cervical Cytology Section - Previously the cytology section only displayed cytology in the last three years, it now displays the last cytology entry for the selected patient regardless of when it was recorded.

• SDA Change - To better categorise oximetry recording and allow for a percentage value to be entered, the Read codes 44YA0, 44YA0, 44YA1 oxygen saturation at periphery have now been removed from Blood Gases SDA and put into Pulse Oximetry SDA. This applies to new and historical entries. The percentage value for historical entries is added as <none> however there will be a data quality clinical audit to help identify such entries. Please update any practice searches or guidelines to reflect this.
• Epilepsy Register - A new code for F25H. Generalised Seizure was added to the Read dictionary in April 2013 and has now been excluded from the QOF Epilepsy register in v26 business rules. Because of this, we have stopped this code from invoking the Vision Epilepsy Register when entered on the patient record in Consultation Manager.
• AMS Prescribing (Scotland) Urgency Status - You can now flag AMS messages as urgent if you right click on the item within Prescription Manager in the Consultation - Therapy screen.

• New Icon for Electronic Test Requesting - To make it easier to access electronic test requesting, we have added a new Test Requesting button to the Consultation Manager toolbar. See Menu, Toolbar, Shortcuts and Function Keys.
• Radiology Requests are now included in tQuest Electronic Test Requesting.
• NHS Specialities Updated - We have updated the NHS speciality lists throughout Vision to match the latest NHS dictionary specialities. The following have been added: Endoscopic, Prosthodontics, Paediatric Cardiology,Tropical Medicine, Community Sexual and Reproductive Health, Public Health. We have also changed Mental Handicap to Learning Disabilities. See NHS and TP(HA)/HB/CSA Speciality Lists.
• Problems Update - When adding a problem the Current Problem dialogue box now displays the selected data which will be added to the problem. See Adding Existing Items into New Problem.
• New Cervical Cytology Read codes from Q3 2013 Read Dictionary have been added to the Cervical Cytology structured data area. See Cervical Cytology - READ Codes for Smear Results.
• QRISK Cardiovascular Calculator - DLM 460 updates the QRISK calculator within Vision to the latest 2013 version. This ensures the QRISK results are as accurate as possible and match the results from the QRISK website. Changes include age range, smoking, Atrial Fibrillation and Diabetes. See CVD Risk and CHD Risk Calculators.
• Dispensing Label Printing - From DLM 460, all label warnings are be selected for label printing by default. You can deselect non-mandatory warnings that you don't want to print but you are not permitted to deselect any mandatory warnings. See Dispensing Labels and Caution Codes.
• Bug Fix - Referral - Add Clinician List - Existing staff who also have a previous inactive Vision account are now displayed in the Referral Add Clinician List.
• Bug Fix - Notepad Keyboard Shortcut - We have reinstated the menu and keyboard shortcut for notepad in Consultation Manager. You can now access this by clicking Add - Notepad or pressing Alt A+N, thus allowing it to be used in macros.
• Bug Fix - Immunisation - MMR Changes - If you record MMR with a status of Refusal it now clears the immunisation due warning from the Alert section in the navigation pane, the Alert form and the Immunisation screen.
• Bug Fix - Guideline - When adding a clinical data hotspot for seasonal influenza, the Read code now correctly defaults to 65ED100 Administration of first intranasal seasonal influenza vaccination.

Therapy

• Therapy display - Highlighting Therapy - When highlighting a therapy item, the details are now displayed in white text.
• Prescription Name Change - Drug details now list items as NHS or Non NHS rather than FP10/non-FP10 as this was only relevant to England. See Drug Status.
• Linking Medication to Problems - When adding/reauthorising medication, if problem population is enabled when presented with the Add Problem window, the drug being linked displays. There is a new column and icons to show which repeat items are linked to a problem. See Reauthorising Therapy with an Existing Problem.
• Force Reauthorise Update - Force reauthorise has been updated to enable all prescribers to reauthorise. See Repeats, Repeat Until, Days Between, Force Reauthorise.
• Bug Fix - Therapy Replace - Therapy replace has been fixed to correct a problem with drug dosages being changed.
• Bug Fix (England) - Repeat Until Date Update - For English practices, when logged in with your Smartcard, Vision no longer removes the repeat until date when reauthorising repeat items.

England

Electronic Prescription Service

• Bug Fix - Individual items from a post dated EPS prescription can no longer be cancelled. See Important Note about Cancelling Post Dated EPS Items.
• Bug Fix - Bulk Signing Window - A fix has been made to the Bulk Signing window to ensure that when an item is cancelled from an EPS prescription, the details are viewable on the rejection tab. Also, Consultation Manager no longer crashes when selecting "Print as FP10" from the bulk signing window.
• Bug Fix - Electronic prescriptions with Nominated Appliance Contractors no longer disappear from the Prescription Manager screen.
• Bug Fix - Reprocessing ETP messages in transmission error no longer results in the message being duplicated and rejected.

GP2GP

• New Registration Warning Message - When you log into Vision without a Smartcard, you now see a new warning message when you access the Registration module. The warning alerts you that no Smartcard has been detected. See Logging in with your Smartcard.
• Compound Immunisations - Compound immunisations that form part of a GP2GP message are now broken down into the constituent items and the correct Read code recorded. See Compound Immunisations.

Scotland

ePharmacy (AMS and CMS)

• Reprinting - We have made some changes to the way you can reprint AMS and CMS prescriptions:

• When reprinting a prescription, you cannot reprint the prescription if the selected prescriber in Prescription Manager differs from the original signer of the prescription.
• When reprinting a prescription, if the number of pages used differs from the original, the prescription will not be reprinted.

Chronic Medication Service (CMS)

• Force Re-authorise - Force Re-authorise is now an available option on the CMS Therapy - Add screen. See Adding a CMS Prescription.
• Bug Fix - CMS reprinting has been fixed, so that only the date of printing is updated.

• eCare Alerts for patients who have transferred out are now rejected by Vision. See eCare.

Emergency Care Summary Management

• Emergency Care Summary - Current Medication now only extracts acute prescriptions dated within the last 6 months. See Emergency Care Summary.
• Key Information Summary - New Read codes have been added to the list available within the Self Management Plan. See Adding Data to the Key Information Summary.
• Key Information Summary and Palliative Care Summary - Resuscitation Status data entry form now defaults to Priority 1. See Adding Data to the Key Information Summary and Adding Data to the Palliative Care Summary.
• Bug Fix - Exception Error on accessing the ECS Summary Management screen has now been addressed.

SCI Diabetic Care

Patient Preview

• Patient Preview is a new screen in Consultation Manager designed to display a quick overview of patient details in a simple and consistent layout. It provides a snapshot of essential information on one page and allows clinicians to have immediate access to the most important patient data. See Patient Preview.

Language and Interpreter Details

• Structured Data Area - We have introduced two new structured data areas for Language Spoken and Language Read.
• Viewing Languages - In addition to displaying on the Journal view, languages are listed under Patient Preferences on the Navigation pane. This information also populates the Patient Preference tab in Registration.
• Interpreter details - Any interpreter details recorded in Consultation Manager automatically filter to the Patient Preference tab in Registration.

Guidelines

• Drug Regime changes in Guidelines - Previously, if you prescribed a drug from a drug regime and chose the repeat option, the number of repeats and the minimum and maximum days between issues was set to zero. The repeat until date also defaulted to today's date. This has changed so that all the boxes are now blank. See Guidelines and Reports

Management Plans

• Serology and Immunology Management Plan - The Serology and Immunology plan has been updated so that the label now states Tumour Markers rather than Carcinoembyronic antigen. See Management Plans.

Med3

• Mandatory Information - Mandatory items are now indicated with an asterisk on the Med3 form.
• Follow-up Assessment - The follow-up assessment box no longer allows you to enter a date in the past.
• Requested By - As most Med3 certificates are requested by the patient and not the GP, the Requested By box now defaults to Patient.
• Changes to the Med3 display in Journal - The Med3 display in Journal shows the dates issued from and to and the diagnosis.
• Follow-on Med3 - When adding a follow-on Med3 the start date of the new certificate defaults to the expiry date of the previous Med3, rather than expiry date + 1 day.
• MED3 Future Dates - The previously reported problem where MED3s with a future date caused a loop of error messages has now been fixed. If you do happen to have a future date on the MED3 form, you are prompted that the date cannot be in the future and returned to the date box where you can change the date manually.

Medication Review

• Medication Review Notes Bug Fix - If you change the free text notes when completing medication reviews, the notes of previous medication review entries are no longer replaced.
• Medication Review - When you update a medication review the free text note from a previous review displays. Over typing this free text note no longer changes historical entries.

Immunisation

• Seasonal Flu by Pharmacist - The Read code 65ED0 (Seasonal Flu by Pharmacist) is included in the Immunisation SDA. This code counts in version 24 of the QOF Business rules. See Type of Immunisation for details.

Therapy Changes

• Drug Display changes to the Journal tab, Consultation View and Filtered List - The drug name, form and strength now displays in bold on the patient's record. See Therapy in the Journal.
• Drug Select by Hierarchy - Drugs displayed by hierarchy in the Drug Select box, appear in strict alphabetical order. See Hierarchy/Drug Class.
• Controlled Drug Warning - When prescribing a Controlled drug for more than 30 days you are now warned that the treatment days is greater than 30. See Prescribing Controlled Drugs for more than 30 Days.
• Batch Prescribing Warning for practices in England, Northern Ireland and Wales - When reauthorising a batch prescription that has more than a certain number of days before expiry, you are now warned to ask the patient whether they have unused batch issues. See Reauthorise Batch Prescription and Repeat Dispensing Options.
• Electronic Prescription Service (EPS) Authorising Four or more items in England - We have fixed the issue that affected the authorisation of four or more ETP medications, you can authorise or re-authorise as many items as required. See Electronic Prescription Service Release 2 (EPS2).
• Prescribing Imported and Secondary Care drugs - The restrictions for imported and secondary drug prescribing has been lifted and a new warning message has been introduced to ensure you are aware when prescribing drugs of this type. See Drug Status and Imported and Secondary Care Drugs.
• Therapy Warning Message Changes - Some therapy warning messages have changed so that they are more descriptive.
• Repeat Masters on the De-Registration of Patients - From DLM 440, a patient transferring out of your practice has all of their active repeat masters automatically inactivated. Any patients that have transferred out prior to DLM 440 must have their repeat masters deactivated manually. There is a new option - Patient de-registered when inactivating repeats manually. See Inactivate Repeats (Discontinue) and Reactivate and Inactivation/Reactivation Reason.
• Repeat Masters on the Re-Registration of a Patient - When re-activating repeat masters for a patient that has re-registered with your practice, you can now choose patient re-registered as a reason for re-activating the medication. See Inactivation/Reactivation Reason.
• Dispensing Drug Labels - Some long drug names (those with a long dm+d name), are now shortened when printing on dispensing labels. See Dispensing Labels and Caution Codes.

Tests

• Fasting Glucose SDA - The units of measure now displays mmol/L.
• Haemoglobin and MCHC Units of Measure - The units of measure for Haemoglobin (Hb) and mean cell haemoglobin concentration (MCHC) pathology results are changing from g/dL to g/L.

Agency

• Agency End Dates - The Agency structured data area (SDA) includes an end date which displays on the Journal and is listed within the Lifestyle section of the navigation pane. SeeLifestyle.

Attachments

• Prohibited File Types - If you attempt to attach an unauthorised file type to a patient's record you get a warning.
• File Types error message removed - You no longer get an error message when adding an attachment to a patient's record that contains an invalid character or if the file name is greater than 4 characters.

Bug Fix

• Bug Fix - Browse Lists (Consultation - Options - Setup -Startup) - When you receive DLM 440, the browse list options are cleared. Browse lists is one of the ways to set list/guidelines to initially display when you select a patient. You can reset them if required.

SCI Gateway/WCCG and CCG Changes - Scotland, Northern Ireland and Wales

• SCI Referrals to include Spoken Language - Referrals can now include the patient's spoken language.
• SCI Gateway - Processing Parked Referrals - Referrals sent to SCI Gateway post DLM 440 contains a unique identifier comprising of the practice and patient ID. Note - Referrals parked before DLM 440 do not include this unique identifier and may not easily be matched and filed back to the originating system. It is therefore recommended that all parked referrals are sent before DLM 440 is installed.
• Redirecting SCI Advice Responses and SCI Discharge Notifications - There is a new facility to redirect SCI messages to Mail Manager. See Mail Manager on-screen help
• WCCG Dosage Display - The therapy dosage box which is sent as part of a WCCG referral has been increased to allow for 198 characters.

England Changes

• GP2GP Units of Measure - Units of measure in GP2GP should ideally be sent using the UCUM standard. Where any unit is represented in a different format (for example, /d or /day), those units are recognised as equivalent and filed appropriately. A number of units outside this list which have been historically supported by Vision 3 are also recognised and filed appropriately. As of DLM 440, if a unit falls outside these classifications then no attempt is made to automatically convert it to a known unit and it will therefore be downgraded to text.
• GP2GP Agency end date - The Agency structured data area now includes an end date which is sent electronically as part of a GP2GP message.
• GP2GP Languages - The new structured data areas for language spoken and language read are included in GP2GP transfers.
• Reminder for Practices using EPS2 - Role Bases Access (RBAC) to Daybook - If using your Smartcard you must have the activity B0093 allocated to it in order to access Daybook or view your Daybook tasks from the Vision Front Screen.

Scotland Changes

• Emergency Care Summary - New combined screen for Emergency Care Summary, Key Information Summary and Palliative Care. The new screen displays consent status and data extracted for each summary as well as new data entry screens for KIS and Palliative Care. See Emergency Care Summary.
• Scottish Cervical Cytology Results System (SCCRS) - Some of the existing descriptive text in a SCCRS result has been updated. In order to maintain data integrity between the SCCRS system and GP systems, these changes are reflected in the SCCRS GP message. See Smear Done and Smear Result.
• eAMS Message Failure Fix - The issue with some eAMS messages not picking up CHI numbers causing messages to fail has now been fixed.

Immunisations

• Combined Immunisation Changes - When editing or deleting a compound entry of a combined immunisation, the associated compound entry(s) are also edited or deleted. See Editing/Deleting Immunisations.
• Single Stage Immunisations Fix - Single Stage immunisations are now displayed on the immunisation summary screen.

Therapy

• Switch to Brand/Generic Screen Changes - We have made some enhancements to the switch to brand/generic screens. There are new filters for discontinued, all generics and specials, pricing information, dm+d prescribing status, column sorting. See Select Brand.
• Previous Vision drug dictionaries have always regarded hyphens and slashes as word separators hence searching for items such as easi-breathe and micro-fine proved difficult. From DLM 430, when searching for an item with a hyphen or a slash, Vision will recognise them as characters rather than a space allowing for more accurate results. See Add Therapy.
• Removal of Filters when Searching Practice Formulary - So that there are no restrictions when searching the practice formulary from the Therapy Add screens, the All Generics, Specials and Discontinued filters are no longer applied. See Selecting Drugs from the Formulary.
• Inactive and Expired Repeats Display in Journal - All inactive and expired repeat masters (including CMS for Scotland and imported GP2GP repeats for England) are now visible from the Journal. Note - items that are reauthorised and expired items are automatically assigned the inactivation reason "Reauthorisation". See Therapy in the Journal.
• Prescription Manager - The default Offset date in Prescription Manager is now 1 week. There is also a setting in Consultations - Options - Prescription Options for each user to change these settings. See Consultation Options - Prescription Setup.

Other

• Current Branch only - From DLM430,for practices with branch locations set-up, you can now filter patients registered at the current location from the patient select screen throughout Vision. This is determined by the Notes Kept At option in the Registration module.See Patient Select - View Branch Patients Only.
• Green Apple Health Promotion Smoking Read code - The default Read code when adding smoking health promotion via the green apple is now 8CAL - Smoking Cessation Advice which is recognised by QOF. For existing entries made after 1 April 2012, where it is not found, Vision will automatically add 8CAL. Smoking Cessation Advice to the latest record. See Health Promotion Entry and Intervention.
• Consultation Manager Search Function Fixed - We have fixed the issue with the list view not displaying properly after the Consultation Manager search box has been used. See Text Search in Consultation Manager.
• Creating MED3 from a Medical History in the Current Consultation Fixed- When adding a MED3 from an existing medical history entry within the current consultation screen, the Read code now copies across to the MED3 form. See Electronic MED3 Doctor’s Statement.
• LabelTrace - The LabelTrace icon is now also available if the selected patient is in display only mode in Consultation Manger.
• Adding Notes to Consultation Manager Warning Screens - Throughout Consultation Manager there are numerous warning messages which give you the option to type a free text note (an example being when you are prompted to delete a consultation if you haven't recorded anything). These messages are not related to the patient record and any notes your type in here are shown each time this message displays regardless of the patient.As the purpose of such note boxes is causing confusion, we have changed the wording for the notes section to "Type any notes you wish to see each time this message box displays. Please be aware that these notes are not related to any patient record".
• New Structured Data Areas (SDA) - There are new Structured Data Areas (SDA's) for Donor Details, Ethnicity and Religion. These are stored in the Miscellaneous filter.

England - GP2GP Changes

• Free Text Notepad Entries are now displays in the Consultation category associated with the Read code or Structured Data Area (SDA) that it belongs to.
• End Dates are now correctly populated in History entries.
• Export in Chronological Order - GP2GP records are now exported in the same order that they were entered into Vision.
• Drug Description Length - Previously, if a degraded drug had a long description Vision truncated it in the GP2GP message. From DLM 430, this is no longer the case and you are able to see the full drug name/description.
• Test Results with no Numeric Value - For test results with no numeric value, the unit of measure box now displays as <none>.
• Test Result Units - From DLM 430, Vision now recognises non-standard units of measure for GP2GP messages. In addition to this we have also updated our list of standard units of measure to include the new pathology LSR and (pu), pH.
• Donor, Religion and Ethnicity are now included in the GP2GP transfer.

Scotland - ePrescribing

• AMS Messages now contain full practice and patient details, including telephone numbers. See eAMS messages in Mail Manager.
• CMS Items for Unsuitable Patients - You can now create CMS items for patients who have been flagged as CMS unsuitable. Changing Patient Suitability from Therapy - Add.
• CMS and Preferred Pharmacy are now Printed on Prescriptions.See Chronic Medication Service (CMS) Therapy Reorder Forms.
• Compliance Alert Date change for Reauthorised Standard Repeats - If you re-authorise a standard repeat that has an alert attached and make it into a CMS repeat, the overdue date is now calculated from the date dispensed on the new CMS item. Previously, the alert date would have been calculated from the last issued date of the old repeat. See CMS Overdue Dispensing Alert.
• Auto-calculation of CMS Quantities - When changing a CMS item back to a standard repeat, the quantity will now be re-calculated and revert back to the usual default.
• Inactive CMS Repeats now Displayed - Inactive CMS repeats can now be seen on the Journal view and on the Scripts tab of the Therapy view.
• CMS Printing - If you enter a new CMS item, the medication automatically appears in the Prescription Manager screen and is listed under the All view ready to print with today's date. From DLM430, when you print the item, it still displays in the All view but now the prescription is printed and recorded with the actual date printed rather than date added to the system. Patient Preview - Currently being piloted

• Patient Preview is currently being piloted and is not available to all customers at the moment. You may see references to Patient Preview in Consultation Manager on-screen help. Patient Preview is a new screen in Consultation Manager designed to display a quick overview of patient data in a simple and consistent layout. It provides a snapshot of essential information on one page and allows Clinicians to have immediate access to all the information required for the clinical care of the patient. The Patient Preview screen is currently being piloted so is not available to all users. See Patient Preview.

Therapy

• Prescribing Brands/Generics - Vision now allows the prescribing of generic preparations which are marked as "not recommended to prescribe - brands not bioequivalent" or "not recommended to prescribe - patient training required" in dm+d, only warning users that they are available to prescribe by brand. Items marked as "never valid to prescribe as a generic" by dm+d will still require a user to select a brand. See Therapy for details.
• Parallel Imports - Parallel Imports are now hidden from the drug select screen by default. To view Parallel Imports, select the "all Generics" filter on the drug select screen. Parallel Imports are marked with a P and "Parallel Import" displays on the drug information screen. See Options from Select Drug Screen for details.
• England - EPS Release 2 - Preferred Pharmacy and Nomination - From DLM 410, if the EPS Nominated Pharmacy is updated by a third party and is different to the Preferred Pharmacy recorded in Vision, an EPS Nomination Mismatch Alert displays in the Alerts Pane in Consultation Manager. See 3rd Party Nomination Changes and Alerts for details.

Immunisations

• New Flu Vaccination Read Codes - The Read dictionary update Q1 2012 contains new Read codes for recording Seasonal Flu vaccination. These new Read codes will be used for QOF reporting and Seasonal Influenza Reporting to HPA and HPS. The Read Code 65E.. Influenza Vaccination is still present in the dictionary but is no longer in the immunisation list and although still eligible for Seasonal Flu reporting is NOT accepted in the QOF 2012-13 Business Rules.

  The new Read Codes are used in QOF and Seasonal Flu reporting:

  • 65ED Seasonal influenza vaccination
  • 65E20 Seasonal influenza vaccin given by other healthcare provider
  • 8I2F0 Seasonal influenza vaccination contraindicated
  • 8I6D0 Seasonal influenza vaccination not indicated

  In addition a new consent code is used in Seasonal Flu call and recall:

• DART OCM (previously known as Plumtree) - Vision now integrates with Plumbtree test requesting systems. See .

CVD Risk Calculations

• Auto-recalculate - When switching between CVD risk calculators, the risk percentages are now automatically calculated.
• CVD Risk Calculators Annual Update - Each year, changes are made to the Read codes used for CVD Risk Calculators. This year’s changes are as follows:
  • Rheumatoid Arthritis, Chronic Kidney disease, Ethnicity - These conditions have additional Qualifying Read codes.
  • Smoking - The data used to calculate smoking risk has changed.
  • Pre-existing CVD - Patients with pre-existing CVD are excluded from QRISK calculation.

Consultation Manager Tabs

• Patient Links Browser Tab - The patient map now links to Google maps. See Using the Patient Browser Links Tab for details.

Vision Online Services

• Non-Viewable Slot Type - Non-viewable slot appointments can now be viewed in the Consultation Manager Appointments list. Patients booked into non - viewable slot appointments will not receive email/SMS notifications.

SCI Gateway Release 1.23

SCI Gateway has introduced several new message types that integrate with Vision. The new message types are:

• Advice Request - A message you create that enables you to ask advice from consultants.
• Advice Response - An incoming message replying to an advice request.
• Discharge Notification - An incoming message notifying you of patient discharge details.
• Supplementary - A message you can create that acts as an appendage to a pre-existing Advice Request or Referral.

The new messages can be utilised by practices that integrate with: SCI - Scottish Care Information, WCCG - Welsh Clinical Communications Gateway and Northern Ireland CCG - Northern Ireland Clinical Communications Gateway (Northern Irish Practices can only use Supplementary messages at this time).

Additionally, the Ethnic Origin section of a Gateway Referral template is now automatically completed from the information recorded in Vision 3.

Gemscript Replaces the Multilex Drug Dictionary

DLM 400 includes an important change in Prescribing and Decision Support; Vision 3 no longer uses the Multilex drug dictionary provided by First Data Bank. In its place we have integrated a new drug dictionary called Gemscript that is maintained by another Cegedim company, RESIP UK.

Gemscript is an integrated dm+d drug dictionary. This means that Gemscript adheres to NHS standards to provide clear and unambiguous information to uniquely identify the specific medicines and devices used in the diagnosis or treatment of patients. Gemscript is at the heart of improvements in the efficiency and effectiveness of Vision 3 prescribing and allows the reliable electronic exchange of information on medicines and devices between healthcare organisations.

We have worked closely with RESIP UK on the Gemscript integration project and we believe this close working relationship will be beneficial to practices as we can respond more quickly to changes in the availability of pharmaceutical products.

It is anticipated that the installation of the new drug dictionary has minimum impact on your practice as the changes to the way you use the dictionary are relatively minor and can be found below, throughout the Therapy topic or in the DLM 400 user guide.

Gemscript Drug Dictionary Updates

Future drug dictionary updates will be delivered to your practice via the usual drug dictionary DLM download. The initial Gemscript drug dictionary will be delivered to your practice before you receive DLM 400.

The new drug dictionary will be ready for use as soon as DLM 400 is installed.

You can check drug dictionary versioning from Help - About Vision on the Vision 3 front screen. You can also see a bulletin of the monthly drug dictionary additions and deletions, see Dictionary Release Guides for details.

dm+d Mapping - Name Replace

The Gemscript installation process will not update current scripts or active repeat masters so there is a chance that you will receive drug name mismatch warnings when you attempt to re-authorise existing repeat masters if the drug description has changed. INPS recommends that you run the dm+d mapping utility to update non-dm+d drug names, quantities and preparations for existing items that become mapped to Gemscript. See the DLM 400 user guide or Drug Dictionary Utilities on-screen help for further information.

Note - dm+d mapping is required due to changing to full dm+d terminology and is not a direct cause of changing to Gemscript.

Selecting a Drug

It is anticipated that the installation of the new drug dictionary will have a minimal impact on your practice. However, drugs may appear in a different order in the selection list because Gemscript uses dm+d descriptions so when searching for a drug the format is name-strength-form (i.e. Aspirin 75mg tablets) instead of name-form-strength (i.e. Aspirin tab 75mg).

Formulary Maintenance

All practices with a drug formulary are advised to check their formulary list for items which have no dm+d equivalent. These items are no longer available to prescribe from Consultation Manager but still appear in your formulary list in Drug Dictionary Utilities. You are advised to locate such items and add an alternative dm+d item from the Gemscript dictionary where necessary. You can remove these items from the formulary list from the Search and Reports module. See Drug Dictionary Utilities On-screen help.

Review Guidelines and Searches

After Gemscript is installed Drug Action Group categories will be referred to as Drug Classes throughout Vision. In some cases there is no exact match between Gemscript Drug Classes and existing Drug Action Group categories so you are advised to review any practice Guidelines which contain drug filters or drug regimes and any ad-hoc searches which contain Drug Action Group (particularly appliance drug action groups) search criteria.

Although you will not notice many significant changes with the new Gemscript drug dictionary, please note the following differences and enhancements (further details can be found in the Therapy topic.):

• Drug Dictionary Versioning - New versioning labels for Gemscript.
• dm+d Terminology - You may find that the details of certain drugs are slightly different or are in a different order compared to your previous drug dictionary.
• Drug List changes:
  • New Special Preparations filter and special items are now marked with S in formulary maintenance.
  • High Risk replaces the Toxic notification.
• Drug Information Changes:
  • Changes to the drug information headings and content.
  • More details in the drug status information bar.
  • Drug items and their details now only pertain to your country (ie black lists, nurse prescribing should only be relevant to the country you are in).
  • New Support for Independent Prescribers - For nurse independent prescribers and non-GP non-nurse independent prescribers, items which they cannot prescribe are now filtered from the drug list.
• Drug Check Changes:
  • Prescriber warnings now display all or none (depending on your settings in Options - Setup). This is because the patient context element to drug checking is included in contraindications and precautions.
  • Old drug items, ie non-dm+d items or those that have not been mapped from a previous system, now no longer prevent the drug check from being performed. Instead, they are displayed within the Drug Check Results screen.
  • Excipients are now included in the drug and allergy checks.
• Drug Allergy Changes:
  • Old drug items recorded within the allergy SDA ie non-dm+d items or those that have not been mapped from a previous system, are now displayed in the alerts pane under the heading Degraded Allergies. From here, you can double click and update them using the new drug dictionary.
  • Unrecognised drug items are now also flagged and listed in the allergy warning screens.
• Settings in Consultation Manager (Consultation - Options - Set-up):
  • Normalex Drug Defaults setting has been replaced with Gemscript Posology Defaults.
  • Context Sensitivity flag has been removed.
  • Prescriber Warning option list is now a check box. This is because the patient context element to drug checking is included in contraindications and precautions.
  • Interaction settings - Drug Doubling options have been renamed and Drug to Drug options for Scotland now allow you to select High.

Other Changes

• Nurse and Pharmacist Independent Prescribers - From DLM 400, following advice from the Department of Health, Nurse and Pharmacist Independent Prescribers are able to prescribe any controlled drug listed in schedules 2-5 for any medical condition within their competence, except diamorphine, cocaine and dipipanone for the treatment of addiction (nurse independent prescribers are able to prescribe other controlled drugs for the treatment of addiction).
• Repeat Dispensing Reauthorisation - When reauthorizing a repeat dispensing item, the prescribing and repeat until dates are now updated according to the issue date. See Repeat Dispensing.

  This also applies to England EPS2 Repeat Dispensing Reauthorisation and Scottish CMS Reauthorisation.

The following changes are new to DLM 350:

New Stroke Risk and CVD Risk Calculators

• The Framingham risk calculator has until now been the only Cardiovascular Disease (CVD) and Stroke Risk Calculator within Vision. From DLM 350, There are now 3 additional risk calculators to choose from in Consultation Manager:
  • ASSIGN - a cardiovascular risk score developed in Dundee University, Scotland in 2006.
  • QRISK - a cardiovascular risk score developed by Julia Hippisley-Cox at the University of Nottingham.
  • CHADS2- a measure of stroke risk for patients with atrial fibrillation.

Advanced Label Design

• The new Advanced Label Printing option brings the following additional functionality to Drug Label Design:
  • You can now manage Monitored Dosage Systems (MDS) labelling.
  • Labels can now have larger text for patients with poor eyesight.
  • You can now print practice definable label warnings and instructions.
  • You now have more control over the number of labels required.

Preview Pane for Drug Labels

• DLM 350 brings a new Preview option for drug labels. This allows you to view labels before they are printed, change number of labels for each item, view if the labels are for Monitored Dosage System trays, view mandatory cautions and add practice defined cautions.

Electronic Test Requesting

• As well as ICE and tQuest, Vision now integrates with Technidata electronic test requesting systems. See Electronic Test Requests for details.

Display NHS/CHI/H+C Number

• There is a new option to display NHS, CHI or H+C number in the Title Format section of Consultation - Options - Setup - General. Once this is selected, the relevant patient number displays in the Consultation Manager title bar. See Consultation Manager Setup - General for details.

Prevention Display

• Target Blood Pressure -In response to user requests the Target Blood Pressure is now visible alongside Blood Pressure on Summary - Prevention Display.
• Peak Flow and Pulse Rate are now displayed on the Prevention Display screen.

Recall Change

• From DLM 350, when a recall is entered with Read code which is not mapped to any SDA (mapped to General History by default), it now auto-completes any previous recall with exactly the same code.

Label Trace

• The Label Trace icon has now been changed to .

England - EPS Release 2 - Phase 3

• The following changes have been made to full EPS 2 functionality:
  • Controlled Drug Changes - All users can now see in the Options-Setup screen from the front screen of Vision, if schedule 2 & 3 and private prescribing are enabled for EPS 2.
  • Cancellation Changes

    You can now view rejected and cancel failed prescriptions in the bulk signing view - rejections tab.

    You can now access the cancellation reason, dispenser and dispenser telephone number from Prescription Manager.

• Bulk Signing changes
  • F9 to Sign - You can now press F9 to sign selected prescription(s) in the workflow list.
  • Urgent Prescriptions - Prescriptions marked as urgent are now displayed at the top of the selected patient’s drug list in the bulk signing screen with the following urgent icon: .
  • Prescriptions displayed oldest first - The order of prescriptions in the patient drugs to sign in the bulk signing screen is now ordered oldest prescription first rather than alphabetical order.
  • Edit Additional Instructions - You can now select Edit Additional Instructions from the bulk signing screen after a prescription has been sent to change information for the dispenser.

Northern Ireland - Electronic Referrals

For practices in Northern Ireland, there is now access to SCI Gateway via Summary - CCG. You can also add a CCG tab to your Consultation Manager tab set. See SCI Gateway/CCG - Referral and Discharges.

Scotland - Scottish Cervical Cytology Recall System (SCCRS)

• SCCRS Recall Advice - SCCRS Recall Advice - A "Refer for Colposcopy" code has been added to the current SCCRS recall advice codes.

Wales - Welsh Clinical Communication Gateway

• WCCG referral from floating toolbar - You can now trigger a referral by dragging and dropping your history entry onto the referral icon in the floating toolbar.

Structured Data Area (SDA) Changes

We have also changed, added and removed some Read codes and data entry options from existing SDA picklists.

• Test Results - We have added a value, unit of measure and normal range fields to numerous test result SDAs. See Test SDA Changes - DLM 350.
• Lung Function - The result value for 339a. Lung function before bronchodilation and 339b. Lung function after bronchodilation, can now be recorded to two decimal places.
• Drug Allergy and Intolerance - To prevent inaccurate data recording, the severity and certainty boxes on the drug allergy screen default to empty. See also SDA Read code removal and additions.
• Maternity - To save confusion between recording maternal details and infant details, three of the Maternity SDA’s have been renamed to the following:
